The Pit Stop & Adopt Program Director is responsible for overseeing BAPBR's owner and shelter support programs, including managing BAPBR's Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet accounts, serving as a liaison for BAPBR's partner shelters, and fielding rescue requests from the general public. This position serves as part of BAPBR's Leadership Team and works closely with the Board of Directors. This is an unpaid, volunteer position.

  • Direct management of BAPBR's Pit Stop & Adopt program, including adoption web sites, shelter partnerships, rehoming requests, and foster program
  • Act as the BAPBR liaison with shelter partners, foster parents, clients, and the larger community
  • Work with the Treasurer to plan annual program goals and track progress
  • Work with the Communications & Marketing Director to coordinate adoptable postings and other marketing needs
  • Work with the Portland and Salem Event Managers to showcase adoptables at relevant events and assist with the coordination of shelter visits
  • Work with the Treasurer to plan and track program budget
  • Check BAPBR email on a frequent basis and respond in a timely manner


  • Experience in program management
  • Experience working with animal shelters/rescues
  • Experience in foster care management a plus
  • Knowledge of nonprofit business models

Born Again Pit Bull Rescue saves lives by keeping dogs out of local shelters through spay and neuter assistance, owner and shelter support programs, and community education.
