All dogs adopted from BAPBR have the following mandatory vet work performed prior to adoption:
- Spay or neuter
- Microchipped
- Rabies vaccination (if age appropriate)
- DHLPP and Bordetella vaccines
- Worming
- Flea Preventative
We are serious about placing our dogs in great homes. We do home checks, background checks and one-on-one interviews with our applicants. We’re looking for adopters who will be committed to loving and caring for these dogs for the rest of their lives.
Applications are not first come, first served. Our goal is to find the best possible match for every dog we place into their forever home.
We only place dogs with people who are committed and able to spend the time and money to maintain this pet for its natural lifetime. A dog is often a 10-15 year commitment. Please consider this fully before applying.
The adoption fee includes: Altering, AVID microchip and registration (a $20 value), initial vaccines, copy of medical vet records/history, de-worming treatment, flea treatment, collar, front clip walking harness, leash, Patricia McConnell’s book: “Love Has No Age Limit”, small bag of grain-free kibble and plenty of post adoption support.
When you adopt a BAPBR dog, our relationship with you does not end there. We know that you’ll have questions once your dog is home with you and we are here to provide advice regarding basic training and resources for you and your dog.
BAPBR Adoption Guidelines:
- No same-sex “pit bull terrier” type dog pairings.
- Same-sex adoptions with other breeds will be considered on a case-by-case basis, though not preferred.
- Indoor homes only – we do not adopt out “outdoor” dogs or “guard” dogs.
- Please note that adoption applicants must own their own home. A BAPBR representative will conduct a home check. There will be no exceptions made to this rule, due to the frequent restrictions on apartments, and rental homes.
*Thank you for your understanding*
Remember, adopting a dog is a lifetime commitment.
Not every family needs a dog, but every dog needs a family.
